Quetta: Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) leader Dr. Sabiha Baloch has strongly condemned the enforced disappearance of Dr. Rashid Baloch, calling it a grave violation of human dignity and a reflection of the broader challenges faced by the Baloch people.

In a statement shared on the social media platform X, Dr. Sabiha Baloch said the disappearance of Dr. Rashid Baloch is not merely an attack on an individual but highlights a persistent pattern of enforced disappearances affecting the Baloch community.

She highlighted Dr. Rashid Baloch’s academic and professional journey, noting that he secured admission to Balochistan’s only medical university despite limited resources, inadequate facilities, and a fragile educational system. According to the statement, he spent six years studying and training under difficult circumstances with the sole aim of serving his community.

Dr. Sabiha Baloch further stated that Dr. Rashid later pursued advanced education at Aga Khan University, one of Pakistan’s most prestigious institutions. After passing rigorous examinations and fulfilling all requirements of the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP), he qualified as a uro-surgeon. She noted that he went on to provide medical care to poor patients in Balochistan, a province already facing a severe shortage of trained doctors.

Despite his dedication and service, Dr. Rashid Baloch was forcibly disappeared, she said, adding that such incidents create fear and uncertainty among professionals who dedicate their lives to public service.

The BYC leader emphasized that the case is not isolated but part of a wider pattern raising serious concerns about human rights, the rule of law, and the safety of professionals in the region. She described the incident as an attack on education, service, and human dignity.

Dr. Sabiha Baloch demanded that Dr. Rashid Baloch be immediately produced and released safely, urging authorities to address the growing concerns surrounding enforced disappearances in Balochistan.
