Quetta: A 36-inch gas pipeline supplying Punjab was destroyed in an explosion near Mir Hazar, close to Rojhan in Balochistan, suspending gas supply to multiple regions.

According to local sources, the blast severely damaged the pipeline, disrupting distribution from Sui in Dera Bugti to Punjab. Pakistani forces cordoned off the area soon after the incident and initiated an investigation.

Meanwhile, in a separate attack, armed militants targeted Pakistani forces and a military construction company near Notal in Naseerabad on Sunday night. The attackers used both light and heavy weapons, resulting in what sources describe as human and material losses to the security personnel.

The Baloch Republican Guards (BRG) claimed responsibility for both attacks. In a statement, BRG spokesperson Dostain Baloch said the group’s fighters struck the forces in Naseerabad and later destroyed the major gas pipeline in Rojhan using explosive devices.

The spokesperson added that such operations would continue, asserting that the group will carry on its activities until “the freedom of Balochistan” is achieved.
