Berlin: Speaking at a seminar organized by the Baloch National Movement (BNM) in Berlin, Germany, to mark Baloch Martyrs’ Day 2025, Qadir Shah Ansari, Coordinator of the Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM) Germany, said that both the Baloch and Pashtun nations are enduring systematic military aggression, enforced disappearances and grave human rights violations under Pakistan’s military establishment.
He called on the international community to speak out against military domination and to support the establishment of an accountable civilian democratic system in Pakistan.
Paying tribute to the Baloch martyrs, Ansari said their sacrifices symbolize the vision of a free and dignified Balochistan. “We stand in solidarity with the martyrs and their courageous families, who have laid down their lives for freedom and justice,” he stated.
Highlighting the historic bond between the Pashtun and Baloch peoples, Ansari said their lands, cultures, and struggles have long been intertwined. “For centuries, these two nations have shared a common heritage and destiny,” he noted, adding that the annual Baloch-Pashtun Unity Day observed on August 31 is a testament to their enduring brotherhood.
He further observed that despite intense state repression and restrictions on cultural and linguistic expression, both nations continue to resist and strive to preserve their identity, heritage and freedom.
Addressing the global audience, Ansari emphasized: “If the world truly believes in democratic values, it cannot remain silent when the will of the people is overshadowed by military power.” He added that genuine democracy thrives only when decisions are made by accountable civilian governments, not by institutions imposed through force.
In conclusion, Qadir Shah Ansari reaffirmed that the sacrifices of Baloch martyrs will keep the struggle for justice and freedom alive. “Our unity the solidarity among oppressed nations, remains our greatest strength,” he said.
