Khuzdar: Residents of Gresha and surrounding areas have reported the jet aircraft flying overhead since early morning. According to local sources, aerial patrols are being conducted over the mountainous regions between Surgar, Daraj Kor and Shashan. A powerful explosion was also reportedly heard a short while ago in the Shaashan mountains.
Initial reports suggest that shelling has taken place in parts of the area, although no casualties have been confirmed so far.
The development follows a major armed attack that occurred yesterday in Nal, where a large group of militants stormed a police checkpoint and held control of the area for nearly five hours. During the assault, the attackers reportedly seized weapons and vehicles from police personnel.
Sources further stated that the armed group also set fire to the camp and machinery of a local extractive company and took 13 people into custody before leaving the area. Since the attack, continuous flights of jet aircraft have been observed, and a ground operation is reportedly underway.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for taking control of Naal.
