Turbat Balochistan — The family of 16-year-old student Naeem Bashir, who was forcibly disappeared from the New Bahman area of Turbat, held an emotional press conference at the Turbat Press Club, expressing deep concern over his continued absence and urging the Balochistan government to take immediate action for his recovery.
Speaking to the media, Naeem’s mother and sister appealed to the district administration of Kech and relevant authorities, demanding swift and practical efforts to bring him back home. They stated that Naeem, a 12th-grade student, was abducted on February 5, 2025, and has been missing for over three months.
“Naeem is a peaceful, education-loving boy,” said his mother. “His annual exams are ongoing, and missing them has severely jeopardized his academic future.” She added that Naeem is the only son of the family, and his disappearance has left them in a state of profound psychological distress.
The family revealed that in the early days of the abduction, the district administration had assured them that Naeem would be released within two to three days. However, despite the passage of more than 90 days, there has been no sign of his return.
They recalled how they held peaceful protests during the holy month of Ramadan and that Eid was the most painful day for the family. “For us, it no longer felt like Eid,” Naeem’s mother said tearfully.
The family emphasized that they have remained within the bounds of law in raising their demands, but warned that if meaningful steps are not taken, they will be forced to escalate their protest.
Naeem’s father, who is an elected local councilor, also addressed the press. Expressing faith in the state institutions, he said, “We are peaceful citizens. Do not force us to take to the streets. We only seek justice.”
The affected family has appealed to the Government of Balochistan, the Kech district administration, local MPAs, and other relevant institutions to take immediate and effective action for Naeem Bashir’s safe recovery.
“We only want justice,” the family stated. “And justice for us means the safe return of our son, Naeem Bashir.”
