The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has announced the release of five police officers who were detained during an operation in the Manguchar area of Kalat district.
In a statement to the media, BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch confirmed that Assistant Sub-Inspector Ghulam Sarwar, Faraz Ali, Rafiq Ahmed Channa, Muhammad Nasir, and Faraz Ahmed had been taken into custody by the BLA’s special unit, the “Fatah Squad.” The detentions occurred during a blockade operation at the strategically significant Khazanei area, where BLA reportedly took control of the main highway.
The spokesperson emphasized that the release of the officers should not be interpreted as a sign of weakness or compromise, but as a demonstration of what he called the Baloch national resistance’s “moral high ground, political maturity, and strategic wisdom.” He added that the officers were being given a chance to dissociate from what BLA views as the colonial military system that targets their own people.
“We know many Baloch in uniform detest the colonial repression, but if you hold your gun on the enemy’s side, your identity aligns with the occupier’s uniform, not your people,” Jeeyand Baloch said.
He described the release as an open door, a final opportunity for the detained officers to reflect on their role. However, he warned that if Baloch individuals in the police continued their current path, BLA would view them no differently than enemy forces.
“The Baloch Liberation Army does not seek to target you with bullets,” he stated, addressing Baloch serving in law enforcement. “But you must decide whether you will be part of the enemy’s weapon or remain neutral in the Baloch nation’s struggle for survival.”
