The Secretary General of the Baloch National Movement (BNM), Dil Murad Baloch, claimed in a statement on the social media platform X that Pakistani regular army commandos were involved in the crackdown and brutal assault on protesters in Shaal.
He stated that, according to sources, these commandos were ordered to go to any extent in using violence while disguised in police uniforms, as seen in the footage.
Dil Murad Baloch further said that although the police itself is an institution of the occupying state and a tool to maintain its control, their local identity might have compelled them to refrain from participating in today’s brutal crackdown (even if not openly). This act exposes the fascist and colonial mindset of the Pakistani state. Pakistan is waging a multi-dimensional war against the Baloch by changing uniforms and concealing identities. All these attempts are merely efforts to evade accountability, but every act of the occupying Pakistan is being recorded in the pages of history, where it will undoubtedly be held accountable.
