The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for two separate attacks on Pakistani military forces in Bolan and Kech districts, stating that 14 soldiers were killed in total.
According to BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch, freedom fighters from the group’s Special Tactical Operations Squad (STOS) targeted a military convoy in the Shorkund area of Mach, Bolan, using a remote-controlled improvised explosive device (IED). The explosion destroyed a military vehicle and killed all 12 personnel onboard, including Special Operations Commander Tariq Imran and Subedar Umar Farooq.
In another operation, the BLA claims its fighters struck a bomb disposal unit of the Pakistani army in the Kalag Tigran area of Kech on May 5 at approximately 2:40 PM. The remote-controlled IED blast occurred while the unit was carrying out clearance operations, killing two soldiers on the spot.
Jeeyand Baloch further stated, “The Baloch Liberation Army is often labeled a foreign proxy by the mercenary Pakistani army. However, it is this army that functions as an armed militia in service of Chinese capital and brands like Papa John’s. A force whose uniform signifies port security one day, corridor protection the next, and servitude to creditors the day after — this is not a national army but a commercial one. The BLA’s rightful resistance against this occupying mercenary force will continue with even greater intensity.”
