Gwadar: Journalist Javed MB Receives Death Threats

Prominent journalist and administrator of the social media platform “Gwadar e Tawar,” Javed MB, who is active in Gwadar, has received serious death threats. The threats were sent to him via WhatsApp last night.

Ain Qadir shared a screenshot of the threatening message on social media, bringing the incident to light. According to him, Javed MB first received a brief message, followed by a call in which he was threatened with dire consequences for publishing a particular news report. The caller explicitly warned him to “prepare for a shroud,” indicating a clear death threat.

Speaking to the media, Javed MB confirmed the threats and said he has been under pressure for quite some time, with efforts being made to stop him from publishing certain reports. He stated that such threats are an attack on journalism, freedom of expression, and basic human rights.

Local journalists and members of civil society strongly condemned the incident and called on the authorities to take immediate notice and take action against those responsible.
