Dr. Sabiha Baloch, a leader of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee, stated that the only relationship that exists between the state and the Baloch is that of the oppressor and the oppressed. The state has always proven itself to be a ruthless tyrant.
She said that the police officer responsible for the brutal torture of Dr. Mahrang, Gulzadi and Beebow yesterday was Zarghoona Tareen. The CTD and other jail staff were ordered to torture our comrades, but when they refused to carry out this illegal and inhumane act, Zarghoona Tareen was personally called in.
Dr. Sabiha Baloch further stated that Zarghoona initially arrived wearing a burqa, concealing her identity. But once she felt “confident” in committing the abuse, she removed the burqa and began brutally torturing Dr. Mahrang and Beebow. Not only did she beat Beebow, but she also dragged her away.
She added that whether it’s the DC Quetta or Zarghoona Tareen, they are all tools of state oppression and part of the forces tasked with the genocide and humiliation of the Baloch. Everyone present in the jail was moved to tears after witnessing these scenes. This is a clear message to the Baloch and Pashtun youth who are still joining the police, military, or other state institutions that tomorrow, it will be their own mothers and sisters who will be humiliated in front of them.
