The father of Dr. Sabiha Baloch, a prominent leader of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC), remains missing. According to reports, officials from Pakistani intelligence agencies have set conditions demanding that Dr. Sabiha Baloch either surrender herself for arrest or resign from the BYC.
Mir Bashir Ahmed, the father of Dr. Sabiha Baloch, has been forcibly disappeared since April 5.
In a statement released on social media, Dr. Sabiha Baloch said, “My father has not been taken for any crime but because of my political stance. This is not law enforcement, it is political blackmail.”
She further alleged that her father is currently in the custody of Pakistani intelligence agencies. Family members were reportedly informed by agency personnel that Dr.Sabiha Baloch must either turn herself in or step down from her role in the Baloch Yakjehti Committee.
Additionally, there are alarming reports that Pakistani intelligence operatives have threatened to kill Mir Bashir Ahmed and forcibly disappear other members of the family if these demands are not met.
