BNM Protests in the Netherlands in Response to illegal Arrests of BYC Leaders, PTM Activists Participated

Amsterdam (Monitoring Desk): The Baloch National Movement (BNM) organized a protest in Amsterdam, Netherlands, against the illegal detention and torture of Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) leaders, including Dr. Mahrang Baloch, Bebugar Baloch, and others, by the Pakistani state.

The members of Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM) also participated in the protest. Demonstrators carried images of victims of enforced disappearances from Balochistan and placards with slogans condemning human rights violations. They emphasized that state oppression in Balochistan has reached unprecedented levels over the past few decades.

Speakers at the event highlighted that Pakistani forces had fired upon and violently suppressed a peaceful rally by the Baloch Yakjehti Committee in Shal, resulting in the martyrdom of three individuals and the injury of many others. They further noted that hundreds of protesters, including Dr. Mahrang Baloch, Bebugar Baloch, and other leaders, were arrested and taken to undisclosed locations, while communication networks were also cut off.

The speakers condemned the ongoing state violence and enforced disappearances in Balochistan, which have affected thousands of Baloch youth and civilians. They pointed out that no information is provided about the whereabouts of the disappeared individuals, and their families are left in the dark.

They also stated that the Pashtun nation is not immune to state violence. The PTM has faced brutal suppression from the Pakistani military and security forces for raising their voices against these injustices. Currently, PTI leaders such as Ali Wazir and others remain in state custody, with efforts being made to silence their voices. Enforced disappearances, oppression and the use of state power in Pashtun areas are common, with public protests being crushed through Pakistani force.

The speakers urged all human rights organizations and the international community to raise their voices against the ongoing genocide of the Baloch and Pashtun people.

The protest was addressed by BNM Netherlands President Mahim Abdul Rahim, Vice President Waheed Baloch, Dr. Abdul Latif Baloch, Mahira Baloch, Rukiya Baloch, Wahid Baloch, Nabil Baloch, Jamal Baloch, Shari Baloch, Mohammad Baloch and PTM activists Zar Khan Afridi.
