The Baloch Women Forum (BWF) has strongly condemned the ongoing genocide of the Baloch people, highlighting the decades-long systematic suppression of their culture, language, and economy.
A media report emphasizes the alarming rise in enforced disappearances, torture, and extrajudicial killings, with the recent discovery of mass graves in Tootak, Khuzdar, further fueling concerns.
The BWF report states that the discovery of 169 unidentified bodies in Tootak, where victims of enforced disappearances were brutally tortured and killed by state-sponsored militias, is a stark reminder of the ongoing human rights abuses in the region.”
The Baloch people deserve a life of dignity and opportunity, not to be subjected to forced disappearances and buried in unmarked graves,” the report asserts. “The discovery of mass graves in Tootak and Mastung raises serious concerns about the extent of these atrocities.”
The report also highlights the severe restrictions on media freedom in Balochistan, hindering the reporting of human rights abuses.
The BWF urges the international community to take note of the escalating violence and to pressure the Pakistani government to end its repressive policies.”
A collective and united mass movement is the only way to counter these genocidal policies,” the report concludes. “The power lies with the masses, regardless of the opponent.”
