BNM’s 2024 Annual Report: Organizational, Political, Diplomatic, and Educational Activities Detailed

The Baloch National Movement (BNM) has released its annual report for the year 2024, presenting data on the party’s organizational, political, diplomatic, and training activities.

In a statement issued on this occasion, BNM’s Information Secretary, Qazi Dad Muhammad Rehan, said that this is not a complete annual report of the BNM’s organizational performance but merely statistics and details of those programs that were brought to the media. This report has been compiled by the BNM’s media department.

He said that according to a conservative estimate, there are about 312 such organizational programs annually, the records of which are only available with the Secretary General and the concerned department. Therefore, they are also not included here.

Qazi Rehan said that the BNM’s annual report shows that the party has focused more on practical performance and has used social media as a medium to present its performance rather than the field.

According to the report, the BNM held 19 protest demonstrations at various times in 2024. These protests were held in various cities of the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Netherlands, and South Korea. Five times, public awareness campaigns were conducted abroad, in which people in different countries were made aware of the situation in Balochistan. Two conferences were held by the party, in which intellectuals, representatives of other nations, and politicians participated at the international level.

A debate was held at the British Parliament at the international level in which BNM representatives highlighted the Baloch national freedom struggle by presenting the Balochistan issue.”

Various BNM delegations participated in 11 international events around the world. 23 commemorative events were held on various occasions throughout the year. These included the anniversaries of Baloch leaders, the International Day of the Disappeared, March 27 as the day of occupation of Balochistan, August 11 as the day of complete independence of Balochistan from British rule, May 28 as the day of Pakistan’s nuclear tests on Balochistan, and November 13 as the day of Baloch martyrs.

The BNM chairman held a press conference in Geneva, where he briefed journalists on the Balochistan freedom movement and the situation in Balochistan under Pakistani occupation.

A photo exhibition was held in Geneva about Balochistan, in which photographs by Baloch photographers were presented. Eight programs were held at the central level through the BNM’s Education and Training or Capacity Building Council. Seven organizational programs were held, including cabinet meetings, central committee meetings, and elections of hankeens ( zones) and chapters.”

The report also includes details of BNM’s diplomatic activities, according to which two letters were sent at the international level. The one letter was sent by the party chairman to the heads of state of different countries of the world, while the second letter was given by BNM Netherlands to the Dutch government. Both letters highlighted the serious human rights situation in Balochistan and requested the world leaders to hold Pakistan accountable at the global level as it is occupying Balochistan and perpetrating atrocities against the Baloch nation. 16 reports were published, most of which were monthly reports of the BNM’s Human Rights Department, while the BNM’s Department of Social Welfare also collected facts and figures on various issues of Balochistan and issued reports.

Special attention was also paid to the media by the BNM, with special focus on issuing statements, reports, and videos in nine languages simultaneously.According to the Information Secretary, a total of 150 videos showcasing party activities were released by the media, along with three special videos on various topics.

Over the past year, five books were published by Zrumbesh Publications, most of which were supervised by Dr. Jalal Baloch, the vice-chairman and head of BNM’s Education and Training Institute. Additionally, the party’s official organ, Zrumbesh Magazine , was published twice, with Senior Joint Secretary General Kamal Baloch overseeing its arrangement and publication. Three pamphlets were issued, one webinar was conducted, and five posters were released.

Furthermore, 25 statements reflecting the party’s perspective were issued to local and international media by the party chairman, secretary general, and spokesperson. Seven hashtag campaigns focusing on different topics were also launched on social media.
