Nadia Baloch, sister of Dr. Mahrang Baloch, has stated that the court verdict against her sister originally expected on Friday has once again been delayed. “In this country, courts, judges and the law operate at the behest of powerful circles. The justice system has been completely taken hostage. My sister, who is a symbol of peaceful resistance and whose struggle has been recognized globally, was first illegally arrested and then detained under the draconian law known as the 3MPO (Maintenance of Public Order).”
She added, “Despite all of this, we knocked on the doors of the court and believed in the law. But with each passing day, our hope in this system is fading. As a lawyer, when I witness with my own eyes how the law is helplessly serving the powerful, I feel a deep pain within.”
Nadia Baloch said the delay in the verdict is due to the fact that intelligence agencies are pressuring Dr. Mahrang to sign extremely unconstitutional, inhumane and humiliating conditions which she has firmly refused. “That is why she is being continuously kept in jail to pressure her into accepting those conditions.”
She said that, “She is not weak, and neither are we. She taught us never to bow down. We have not given up, nor will we abandon this peaceful and lawful struggle. The state wants to provoke us, but we know our fight is not just in the streets or courts, it is in every place where injustice, oppression and the abuse of power exist.”
Nadia Baloch further stated, “Today, the Baloch nation urgently needs conscious, educated, and capable individuals in every field, whether it’s politics, law, education, journalism or medical. This struggle is not just political; it’s a collective intellectual awakening that we must carry forward on all fronts peacefully, but with unwavering determination.”
