Raheem Baloch Advocate, Ex – Secretary General of BNM and Ex – Chairman of BSO has posted on “X” Regarding the ongoing SCO summit in Islamabad saying that “On the occasion of Shanghai Cooperation Conference in Islamabad, I want to draw attention of the respectful participants of the conference to the independence struggle of the Baloch people.
I want to make it clear to all representatives of the member states of SCO that Balochistan isn’t a part of Pakistan. Rather it was an independent state when Pakistan was created in 1947. Balochistan was not an Indian state, so it was not part of Pakistan at the time of its creation.
He said ” Pakistan forcibly invaded, occupied and annexed the Balochistan (also known as Kalat state). Since then the people of Balochistan have been struggling for independence. For last 25 years there is a continuous struggle in the occupied Balochistan against Pakistan’s occupation, its colonial policies and exploitation of the Baloch national resources. It’s not Pakistan but the Balochistan which borders with Iran, Afghanistan and owns the routes to Iran, Afghanistan onwards to Western and Central Asian countries. It’s also Occupied Balochistan which has the Sea ports nearest to the UAE and African continent.
He furthermore added “If the member states of the SCO want peace, progress, prosperity and development in the region as well as connectivity and cooperation among the countries in the region then they should persuade and pressure Pakistan to quit the occupied Balochistan. Such role of the member states of SCO may persuade independent Balochistan to consider any ways of cooperate with the SCO in its efforts for connectivity and cooperation.
Though Pakistan will try its best to portray Baloch national liberation movement as terrorism, but I hope honorable representatives of the member states know well the difference between national liberation movements and terrorism.
