QUTTA, BALOCHISTAN: QRF Team Bombed in Turbat, Police Stations Attacked in Khuzdar, Firing on Polio Team in Nushki; Three Dead, Several Injured
In Turbat, armed men targeted a Quick Response Force (QRF) team with a remote-controlled bomb attack near Josak police station on the key N-8 highway. According to initial reports, one personnel was killed and two others were injured in the attack. Sources said the attack took place near Josak police station; however, further details have not yet emerged.
Separately, in the Baghbana area of Khuzdar district, unidentified armed men attacked a police station and set it on fire. Initial reports indicate that at least two police personnel were injured and according to unconfirmed reports, the station’s SHO (Station House Officer) was also injured in the firing.
In a third incident, unidentified individuals opened fire on police personnel deployed for the security of a polio team at Killi Jamal Abad in Nushki, killing two police personnel identified as Muhammad Yasir and Abdul Rauf.
Police sources said the assailants also took the government-issued weapons of the deceased personnel with them before fleeing. Following the incident, police cordoned off the area and launched a search for the suspects.
So far, no group has claimed responsibility for any of the attacks. Police and other concerned authorities have not yet issued an official statement regarding the incidents.
