PANJGUR, BALOCHISTAN: Books worth Rs1 million were sold at a two-day book fair in Panjgur, Balochistan.
The fair was organised by a local school, The Oasis Academy and continued for two days. Thousands of male and female students from Panjgur attended and showed keen interest in the book stalls. The large volume of sales points to growing interest in reading among the younger generation.
The report also said that interest in book reading has increased “a hundred percent” across Balochistan. It attributed this mainly to book stalls regularly organised by student organisations (BSO, BSAC and other Organisations) across the Balochistan, which, it said, have continued despite interference, bans by civil administration and state forces and cases registered against organisers who were selling the Books.
