
KHUZDAR, BALOCHISTAN: Father and 17-Year-Old Daughter Forcibly Disappeared by Security Forces
According to the source, Abdul Qudoos Zarakzai and his 17-year-old daughter Aqsa were taken into custody by Pakistani security forces personnel and moved to an unknown location.
According to sources, at approximately 10 p.m. on the night of August 5, personnel from the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) and plainclothes officials carried out a joint raid on a residential quarter in Khuzdar’s Civil Colony. After entering the house, the personnel harassed the women and other family members present, subjected them to violence and searched the premises.
During the raid, Abdul Qudoos Zarakzai and his 17-year-old daughter Aqsa were taken away. The personnel neither stated any reason for the arrest nor provided information about any legal proceedings or case against them. The family says that since the two were taken, no information has been provided about their condition or whereabouts.
The affected family has appealed to human rights organizations, the legal community, political parties, and civil society to take notice of the matter and play their part in securing the safe recovery of Abdul Qudoos Zarakzai and his daughter Aqsa.
