Extreme Heat Grips Balochistan, Nokundi Hits 48°C, Rain Expected in Northern and Eastern Districts

QUETTA, BALOCHISTAN: The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast dry and hot weather across most districts of Balochistan, with central districts expected to experience severe heat, while rainfall is anticipated in several northern and eastern areas of Balochistan.

According to the Meteorological Department, rainfall is expected in Zhob, Sherani, Kohlu, Nasirabad, Harnai, Sibi, Musa Khel, Barkhan, Dera Bugti, Khuzdar, and surrounding areas.

The Meteorological Department recorded the following temperatures across Balochistan:

Quetta: 41°C | Kalat: 36°C

Ziarat: 28°C | Zhob: 39°C

Sibi: 47°C | Turbat: 40°C

Nokundi: 48°C | Chaman: 41°C

Gwadar (Coastal): 33°C | Jiwani (Coastal): 34°C

Nokundi and Sibi Record Extreme Heat

Nokundi recorded the highest temperature at 48°C, followed closely by Sibi at 47°C, making them the hottest areas in Balochistan today. In contrast, Ziarat recorded the coolest temperature at 28°C, offering some relief in the highland areas, while the coastal areas of Gwadar and Jiwani remained relatively moderate at 33°C and 34°C respectively.

Residents in high-temperature areas are advised to take precautions against heatstroke and dehydration, particularly during peak afternoon hours, and to avoid unnecessary outdoor exposure.
