TEHRAN/ KURDISTAN: The Kurdistan Free Life Party (PJAK) has confirmed the deaths of four of its fighters following recent clashes and exchanges of fire with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), in the latest episode of ongoing conflict between the two sides.
In an official statement, PJAK confirmed that the four fighters killed in the clashes included two men and two women. The organization also claimed that multiple IRGC personnel were killed and wounded during the same clashes.
Prior to PJAK’s official statement, sources believed to be close to the Revolutionary Guards had released images of bodies and weapons, claiming that six PJAK members had been killed in the fighting. However, PJAK’s official statement put the number at four, creating a discrepancy in the reported casualty figures between the two sides.
The military wing of the Kurdistan Free Life Party stated that it would respond to the attack, signaling that further clashes between the two sides may follow.
