Dr. Naseem Baloch Warns Kashmir Against Trusting State Promises, Cites Baloch Bitter Experience

Dr Naseem Baloch interview with Zrumbesh TV

PARIS, FRANCE: Baloch National Movement (BNM) Chairman Dr. Naseem Baloch has strongly warned the people of Jammu and Kashmir against placing trust in the promises and agreements of the Pakistani state, citing what he described as the deeply bitter and painful historical experience of the Baloch nation with such commitments, in a post shared on social media platform X

Drawing a direct parallel between the current situation in Kashmir and the decades-long suffering of the Baloch nation, Dr. Naseem Baloch said the oppression being faced by the Kashmiri people today is not new to the Baloch.

“The oppression, violence, and use of state power that the people of Jammu and Kashmir are facing today is not something new to us. Since 1948, the Baloch nation has endured similar forms of persecution, military aggression, political repression, enforced disappearances, and human rights violations. Therefore, we understand the pain, suffering, and sense of deprivation experienced by the Kashmiri people better than anyone,” he said.

Addressing the people of Kashmir directly, the BNM chairman urged them to remain steadfast in protecting their historical status, national identity, and collective existence.

“I would like to tell the people of Kashmir to stand firm in protecting their historical status, national identity, and collective existence. The history of the Pakistani state and its military establishment shows that it has never voluntarily recognised the legitimate political, national, and human rights of any oppressed nation. Today, the ruthless suppression of public voices in Kashmir, the arrests, and the attempts to crush political demands through force are visible to the entire world,” Dr. Naseem Baloch said.

Turning to the issue of negotiations and state agreements, the BNM chairman issued a direct and stark warning to the Kashmiri people, saying the Baloch nation’s experience with such promises has been one of repeated betrayal and deception.

“As far as negotiations, agreements, and state promises are concerned, the experience of the Baloch nation has been deeply bitter. We were deceived through promises made under oath on the Holy Quran. The agreements made with Shaheed Nawab Nauroz Khan, Shaheed Agha Abdul Karim, Shaheed Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti, and other Baloch leaders, and the treatment they subsequently received, are part of history. These realities remain a part of the collective memory of the Baloch nation,” he said.

Despite the grim historical warning, Dr. Naseem Baloch expressed his firm belief that the people of Kashmir must not abandon their struggle and must continue pressing for their fundamental rights and the right to determine their own future.

“We believe that the people of Kashmir should continue their struggle for their freedom, national identity, their political rights, and their right to determine their own future. The protection of national identity and national dignity is not only a guarantee of a nation’s survival but also the foundation of lasting peace in the region. Until the fundamental rights of nations are recognised, peace and stability will remain nothing more than a dream,” he said.

The BNM chairman further emphasised the deep bond of solidarity between the Baloch and Kashmiri peoples, saying that as an oppressed nation, the Baloch people feel profoundly connected to the suffering and struggle of the people of Kashmir.

“As an oppressed nation, the Baloch people feel deeply connected to the suffering and struggle of the Kashmiri people. We support the national and human rights of the people of Kashmir and assure them that the Baloch people will continue to express their moral and political solidarity with them,” Dr. Naseem Baloch said.

Concluding his post on X, the BNM chairman made a powerful and unequivocal statement on the right of all nations to freedom and self-determination, saying no power in the world can permanently suppress a people’s natural right to exist and decide their own destiny.

“The right to national survival, freedom, and self-determination is the fundamental and natural right of every nation. No power can permanently deprive a people of this right. We can survive as a nation when we get rid of Pakistan,” he said.
