HARNAI, BALOCHISTAN: The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has denied any involvement in a firing incident that occurred on Tuesday on Chongi Road in the Shahrag area of Harnai, which resulted in the deaths of five individuals and left four others injured, according to a statement issued by the group’s spokesperson.

In a statement issued, BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch said the organization had absolutely no connection to the incident, describing attempts by certain quarters and institutions to link the attack to the BLA as entirely baseless and contrary to reality.

The spokesperson further clarified that the BLA is neither obligated nor bound to issue a separate denial for every incident it has not carried out. He stated that the sole credible source for confirming or denying the organization’s involvement in any military operation is the BLA’s official media channels, adding that if responsibility for an incident has not been claimed through the BLA’s official sources, it should automatically be considered a denial.

Jeeyand Baloch described the BLA as an organized and responsible organization with clearly defined targets and policies, stating that whenever its fighters carry out an operation against defined targets, the organization openly and directly accepts responsibility.

The circumstances and perpetrators behind the Harnai firing incident that killed five and wounded four remain unclear.

It is worth noting that similar incidents in Balochistan have frequently been attributed to armed groups locally referred to as “death squads,” which Baloch political organizations and activists allege operate under the patronage of Pakistani security establishments.
