MASTUNG, BALOCHISTAN: The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for two separate attacks on Pakistani security forces checkpoints in Mastung district, stating that five personnel were killed in an ambush on May 13.
According to a statement issued by BLA spokesperson Azad Baloch on May 15, 2026, fighters first attacked Pakistani security forces checkpoints in Mastung on May 9, though no immediate casualty confirmation was available for that operation.
In the second and more significant operation on May 13 in the Kardgah area of Mastung, BLA fighters launched a heavy ambush on a Pakistani security forces checkpoint, killing five personnel.
The group further claimed that Pakistani forces deployed helicopters following the attack in an attempt to encircle the fighters but that all fighters successfully withdrew to their bases without casualties.
