HARNAI, BALOCHISTAN: A heartbreaking scene has emerged from Balochistan as the young child of enforced disappearance victim Allah Rakhya Sumalani was seen holding his father’s photograph, appealing for his safe recovery, a sight that would move any human heart.
According to sources, Allah Rakhya Sumalani was taken into custody by Frontier Corps (FC) personnel on June 8, 2019, from Shahrag area of Harnai and has been missing ever since.
Since his detention, Sumalani has neither been produced before any court of law nor has his family been provided any information regarding his whereabouts, sources said.
In a further blow to the family, the Commission for Enforced Disappearances has also closed the hearing of his case, adding to the hardships already faced by his loved ones.
The family and rights advocates are urging senior authorities to ensure the immediate and safe recovery of Allah Rakhya Sumalani, demanding that if any charges exist against him, he must be presented before a court of law in accordance with due process.
