KECH: The family of Khadija Balcoh, a nursing student from Turbat, has expressed serious concern over her arrest and subsequent disappearance, demanding her immediate recovery.
Speaking at a press conference at the Turbat Press Club, family members said that Khadija Pir Jan, a seventh-semester BS Nursing student whose final examinations are scheduled to begin on April 28, was taken into custody on the night of April 21, 2026, during a raid at the Bolan Medical Nursing Girls Hostel in Quetta.
According to the family, personnel from the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and other agencies were involved in the operation. They said that Khadija was detained without any clear reason and shifted to an undisclosed location. The family further claimed that she was subjected to violence during the arrest, which caused fear among other students present in the hostel.
They stated that Khadija had previously appeared before the CTD in Turbat on March 14, 2026, and was cleared after questioning. The family questioned the basis of the latest action despite her prior clearance.
Meanwhile, government sources have reportedly alleged links between Khadija Pir Jan and militant elements. However, her family has strongly rejected these claims, calling them baseless and asserting that she has never been involved in any unlawful activity.
The family said they have not been provided any official information regarding her current condition or whereabouts, despite claims made at the government level.
They have called on authorities to immediately recover Khadija Pir Jan and present her before a court of law. They emphasized that if there are any charges against her, she should be granted a fair trial in accordance with the law; otherwise, she should be released.
