KHARAN: State agents, including local informers and operatives of the Frontier Corps (FC) and intelligence agencies, have reportedly disguised themselves as Baloch freedom fighters to intimidate hospital administrators, polio workers and transporters in various areas of Kharan.
According to Zrumbesh sources, early today in Killi Sarawan, Kharan, armed personnel backed by the FC impersonated Baloch freedom fighters and forcibly shut down a hospital by stopping the staff from working. They threatened that the hospital would remain closed. Shortly afterward, FC personnel patrolled inside Killi.
At a polio transit point near Norozabad Road, South City, armed men identified as state operatives also threatened staff and workers.
Armed individuals, claiming to be Baloch freedom fighters, stopped a bus on the Kharan-Karachi highway near Killi Sarawan and Chanal, harassing passengers and the driver.
Local residents said that state agencies are deliberately using their agents to harass the public and falsely associate them with Baloch freedom fighters as part of a calculated conspiracy to intimidate people.
It is also noted that recently, Pakistani forces came under heavy attack in the area, after which personnel retreated to local homes for shelter and later collected blankets from the houses to carry the bodies of their dead.
