QUETTA: The National Democratic Party (NDP) has expressed serious concern and sorrow over the enforced disappearance of its central leader Ghani Baloch, which has now extended to nearly eleven months. Despite the long period, neither his family nor the party has received any information regarding his current condition, health, or whereabouts, causing severe mental distress and anxiety among all those concerned.
The NDP spokesperson stated that both the party and Ghani Baloch’s family have pursued all possible constitutional and legal measures. These include filing applications for FIR registration, approaching courts when FIRs were not registered, submitting a constitutional petition in the Balochistan High Court, presenting the case before the Commission on Enforced Disappearances, as well as organizing press releases, press conferences and peaceful protests. Despite these efforts, there has been no clear official stance except for the belated registration of an FIR.
The spokesperson highlighted that Ghani Baloch is a peaceful political worker and a bookseller by profession who earned his livelihood through it. He firmly believed in democratic values and consistently prioritized political and constitutional struggle.
