QUETTA: BNM Chairman Dr. Naseem Baloch shared a statement on the social media platform X, paying tribute to Martyr Agha Mahmood Baloch and highlighting his intellectual, political and organizational contributions to the Baloch national struggle.
Martyr Agha Mahmood Baloch was an intellectual and a leader of the national freedom struggle who remained far removed from superficial displays and loud claims. His every action, every word, and every step was devoted to awakening political and national consciousness and organizing Baloch society on strong intellectual foundations. After becoming associated with Baloch student politics, he became ideologically connected to the freedom movement and continuously worked to strengthen this struggle. His personality combined intellectual depth, leadership ability and a deep connection with the people.
Agha Mahmood Jan was not only an ideological leader but also an intellectual institution in himself. Inspired by him, countless young people joined the movement. His words, character and knowledge ignited the flame of freedom in people’s hearts and guided them onto the path of struggle. He was well aware that the success of any movement depends on the strength of institutions and collective consciousness; therefore, he remained constantly engaged in practical struggle.
Despite being a target of the enemy, he remained steadfast. Eventually, on March 14, 2011, his martyrdom inflicted an irreparable loss on the movement. On that day, the nation lost a leader whose character and intellect were, in themselves, a complete school of thought.
