QUETTA: The protest camp organized by Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) against enforced disappearances continued for the 6102nd day outside the Quetta Press Club in Quetta on Friday.
The camp is being led by VBMP executive committee member Niaz Mohammad, with families of missing persons continuing their long-standing protest demanding the recovery of forcibly disappeared individuals.
During the protest, former chairman of the Baloch Students Organization, Mahim Baloch, visited the camp and expressed solidarity with the families of missing persons. He called for an end to enforced disappearances and demanded the immediate recovery of all missing individuals.
Speaking on the occasion, Nasrullah Baloch, chairman of VBMP, expressed concern over what he described as extrajudicial killings of forcibly disappeared Baloch individuals.
He stated that more than 21 bodies of young men have been recovered from the Makran Division during the past two months. According to him, many of the victims were allegedly first detained by security forces, later subjected to enforced disappearance, and subsequently their bullet-riddled bodies were discovered.
Nasrullah Baloch said these incidents reflect a growing loss of human lives in Balochistan. He condemned the killings and urged the government to conduct transparent and impartial investigations into the incidents, bring the facts before the public, and ensure legal action against those responsible.
