Quetta: The protest camp established by Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) against enforced disappearances in Balochistan continued for the 6,087th day outside the Quetta Press Club under the leadership of executive committee member Niaz Muhammad.
During the camp, family members of forcibly disappeared Muhammad Irfan Qambrani met with VBMP Chairman Nasrullah Baloch and shared details regarding his disappearance.
According to the family, Muhammad Irfan Qambrani, son of Kamaluddin, was taken into custody on the night of January 22 from Killi Qambrani in Quetta by personnel of the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) along with other state agencies and was subsequently moved to an undisclosed location.
Relatives said they have repeatedly approached local authorities to inquire about his detention, but officials have neither disclosed the reasons for his arrest nor provided any information about his well-being. They stated that the uncertainty has placed the family under severe mental stress.
VBMP Chairman Nasrullah Baloch assured the family that the organization would raise Irfan’s case at the institutional level, including with the commission on disappeared persons and the government, and would continue to advocate for his safe recovery at all available forums.
He also appealed to the government and heads of relevant institutions to play their role in ensuring Muhammad Irfan’s safe return and to relieve his family from ongoing distress.
