Kech: Political Activist Gulzar Dost Presented in Court, Sent to Central Jail on 5-Day Remand

Kech, Balochistan: Political activist Gulzar Dost, who was detained by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) in Turbat late Sunday night, was presented in court today. The court ordered his transfer to Central Jail on a five-day judicial remand.

Gulzar Dost was represented in court by prominent lawyers from the Kech Bar Association, including President Majeed Shah Advocate, senior lawyer Jadeen Dashti Advocate, and Niaz Ahmed Advocate.

Confirming the remand, Advocate Majeed Shah stated that the charges against Gulzar Dost lack any legal basis and would be challenged in court. He expressed confidence that the court would dismiss the “baseless and weak” cases in the next hearing and order his release.

The arrest of Gulzar Dost has sparked strong reactions from local civil society groups and human rights advocates, who have called for transparency, due process, and the protection of constitutional rights.
