QUETTA, BALOCHISTAN: The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has released details of five of its members who it says were martyred in a clash in the Sultan Shar area of Qila Abdullah on September 13, 2026. The group published the details on its official channel, “Hakkal.”
According to the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), the five are Waqar Ahmed Lehri, alias Chakar Josh, son of Sanaullah Lehri, a resident of Baloch Street in Quetta. The group said he joined its urban guerrilla front in 2022 and moved to the mountain front on August 1, 2025. It said he was active on the Quetta and Noshki fronts.
The BLA said he took on responsibilities on the urban front in his early years and became known within the group as a trusted member, citing his discipline, secrecy, perseverance and ability to read situations. It said he was known for acting with restraint rather than emotion and for not backing away from his duties in difficult conditions. According to the group, his move from city life to armed activity reflected mental training built on discipline, patience and commitment to his cause.
The group said the harsh conditions of mountain life, long distances, difficult terrain and constant physical effort tested him in a new phase. It said he adapted to this environment through his endurance and that fellow members regarded him as outstanding in physical contests and hard training and as someone who kept up morale under pressure.
Farooq Pirkani, alias Asif, son of Haji Muhammad Murad Pirkani, a resident of Gohar Abad, Quetta. The BLA said he joined its armed activity in 2026 at a young age and was active on the Noshki front. The group described the decision as the start of a major change in his life.
The BLA described him as a quiet, serious young man who took his responsibilities seriously. It said he was posted to the Noshki area, where, despite harsh weather, long journeys and constant physical strain, he adopted discipline and mutual trust with his fellow members.
The group said that despite his young age and short time in the organization, his colleagues remembered him as someone serious about the path he had chosen. It said his death left a gap among his close associates.
Ismatullah Muhammad Hassani, alias Mulla Chakar, son of Nematullah Muhammad Hassani, a resident of Zorabad, Noshki. The BLA said he was a hafiz of the Quran, joined the “armed movement” in June 2025 and became part of the BLA in April 2026. It said he was active on the Noshki front.
According to the group, his religious education was a prominent part of his identity among his colleagues, and he was known in his circle as Mulla Chakar. It described him as serious, reserved and attentive to his duties. The BLA said the last period of his life was spent in conditions where daily life was difficult and that his standing within the organization grew during that time.
Yasir Mengal, alias Shahyar, son of Noor Muhammad Mengal, a resident of Ahmadwal, Noshki. The BLA said he was a driver by profession, joined the armed movement in 2026 and later became associated with the Noshki front.
The group said his work as a driver kept him connected to travel and roads and brought him into contact with people in different areas. It said his close associates knew him as simple and sociable and described his knowledge of routes as part of his personality. According to the BLA, the short time he spent with his colleagues on the Noshki front was very different from his normal life.
Imran Sarpara, alias Asim, son of Muhammad Hussain, from Sariab in Quetta. The BLA said he joined as an urban guerrilla in December 2024 and moved to the mountain front in January 2026. It said he later stayed in the Quetta, Nagahu and Noshki areas.
The group said that by making this decision at a young age, he left behind the phase of life in which a young person builds a path for his home, personal wishes and future. It said he chose to link his personal life to what it called a national responsibility and gave up many personal comforts, relationships and future prospects. The BLA said he regarded the hardships and deprivations along the way as part of his responsibility and that he was killed in the September 13 clash, about two years after the decision he made in December 2024.
The BLA said the sacrifices of the five would not go in vain and that their cause would be passed on to future generations.
