QUETTA, BALOCHSITAN: Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) has said it received complaints from family members that Hassan Rafiq, Ehsan Hassan and Nadil Baloch all of whom had previously been forcibly disappeared were found dead, with their bodies recovered from the Kuldan, Dannuk area of Gwadar.
The families said that all three young men were extrajudicially killed while in custody. VBMP has expressed deep concern over the incident and demanded a transparent, impartial and independent investigation.
According to the families, Hassan Rafiq was released on bail from Turbat Jail on 24 August 2026 but was taken into custody by security forces immediately after his release from outside the jail and forcibly disappeared. No information about his whereabouts was provided thereafter.
Ehsan Hassan was forcibly disappeared along with his brother, Balach Hassan, after being taken into custody by security forces during a raid on their family home in Tal Sar, Jiwani, Gwadar, on 22 January 2026.
Similarly, according to the family, Nadil Baloch, a resident of Panwan, Gwadar, was forcibly disappeared after being taken into custody by security forces during a raid on his home at approximately 1:30 a.m. on 19 April 2026.
VBMP said that if these individuals were accused of any crime, they should have been presented before a court and given a transparent legal process in accordance with the law. No individual or institution, it said, has the authority to extrajudicially kill a person in custody or dump their body in a deserted area.
The organization described the allegations of enforced disappearance, unlawful detention and death in custody as extremely serious, requiring a full investigation.
VBMP strongly condemned the incident and demanded that the judiciary take immediate notice of the matter and initiate an independent, impartial, transparent and credible investigation. It called for all relevant records, detention-related documents, forensic evidence and other available proof to be preserved and for those responsible to be held accountable under the law and brought to justice through fair judicial proceedings.
The organization further demanded that the findings of the investigation be made public and shared with the affected families, that the families be provided complete information about the incident, and that they receive justice and legal redress. It called on state institutions to ensure adherence to the constitution, the law and fundamental human rights in order to prevent future incidents of enforced disappearance, unlawful detention and any extrajudicial or unconstitutional action.
VBMP maintained that regardless of the alleged crime, presenting the accused before a court and resolving the matter through a transparent judicial process is the only constitutional and legal path.
