4 Killed, 7 Injured in Lasbela Attack on Pakistani Forces; BLA Claims Responsibility

LASBELA, BALOCHISTAN: At least four security personnel were killed and seven others critically injured after a deadly attack on a Pakistani forces convoy on the national highway in Lasbela, according to local sources, with the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) claiming responsibility for the assault.

Sources said vehicles belonging to the 15th Frontier Force (FF) were targeted in the Kashari area of Lasbela. Following the explosion, one of the security vehicles caught fire and was completely destroyed.

Those killed in the attack have been identified as Naik/Sepoy Asghar (15 FF), Sepoy Zeeshan (15 FF), Shamraiz (a civilian driver) and Aashiq (100 Levies Executive Battalion).

Those critically injured include Naik Fazal Qadir (15 FF), Lance Naik Munawar Ali (15 FF), Sepoy Sabir (15 FF), Sepoy Nasir (15 FF), Sepoy Nadeem (100 LEB), civilian driver Mashooq Ali (100 LEB) and retired Havaldar Dilshad (100 LEB).

According to reports, the bodies of the deceased and the injured were initially shifted to Bela Camp, from where the critically injured are likely to be transferred to Karachi for further medical treatment.

In a statement issued to media, BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch said the group’s “Fatah Squad” carried out the attack on the convoy of what he referred to as Pakistani occupying forces in the Walpat area of Lasbela this morning, claiming that dozens of personnel were killed or injured as a result.

The BLA’s claimed casualty figures differ significantly from the confirmed death toll based on named victims. Pakistani military authorities have not issued an official statement on the incident or the casualty figures.
