
KARACHI: A disabled school teacher and head of an educational institution has disappeared after being detained by Pakistani forces in the city’s Mari Pur area, with family members and colleagues alleging he was forcibly disappeared.
According to local sources, Pakistani forces detained Allah Bakhsh, son of Basham, during a raid on his residence in Mari Pur at approximately 4 a.m. Sources said Allah Bakhsh, who is disabled in both legs, has served for the past ten years at the Takri Education Center, where he currently holds the position of head of the institution.
He was released a short time after the initial detention, sources said. However, local sources allege that he was taken back into custody roughly an hour later. Since then, his family and colleagues say they have been unable to reach him, and no confirmed information is available regarding his current whereabouts or condition.
No official statement has been issued by Pakistani authorities regarding the detention or Allah Bakhsh’s current status.
