QUETTA, BALOCHISTAN: BLA Claims Responsibility for Killing 46 Pakistani Military Personnel in 51 Operations, Maintaining Blockade, Destroying Military Posts
Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch, in a statement issued to media, claimed responsibility for 51 operations across Balochistan, saying they resulted in the deaths of 46 Pakistani military personnel, the continuation of an economic blockade and the destruction of several military posts.
According to the spokesperson, BLA fighters carried out 51 operations across Balochistan over the past fifteen days. The group said these attacks killed more than 46 personnel of the Pakistani army and wounded dozens more, while inflicting heavy financial losses on the state. BLA said its fighters used IED attacks and ambushes to target Pakistani forces and gained control of several areas, while seven posts used by security forces were destroyed in explosions. The group said five of its own fighters were Martyred in clashes with the army during this period.
July 11: BLA said its fighters blockaded the highway at Hazarganji in Quetta city and attacked a police station, resulting in what the group described as casualties and losses among police personnel.
July 15: In the Khost area of Harnai, BLA said its fighters took control of a site belonging to the Marri Oil and Gas Company, planting explosives to destroy fuel tankers there. The group said a Levies Force post used to support the company at the same location was also destroyed in an explosion, along with the gas well’s main pipeline. On the same day, in the Naghar Kund area of Sorab, BLA said its fighters attacked Pakistani forces while they were carrying out an offensive operation, the group said the hours-long attack killed six personnel and wounded several others, while three BLA fighters identified as Waheed alias Bahot, Muhammad Raheem alias Isfand and Shakir Rehman alias Ashraf were martyred.
July 16: In the Ahmedwal area of Noshki, BLA said its fighters took control of a Levies police station and detained two personnel present there, alleging the station had been used by the army during operations and that the personnel were involved in extorting money from vehicles. The group said it seized weapons from the station before destroying the building with explosives and released the detained personnel after a warning.
July 17: In the Badrang area of Kalat, BLA said its fighters attacked Pakistani forces, inflicting losses. On the same day, in Kech’s Hoshab area, the group said it simultaneously destroyed a military camp at “Damb” and surveillance cameras installed at Hoshab’s “Zero Point.”
July 18: In the Kachki and Station areas of Noshki, BLA said three vehicles transporting minerals on a trade route were targeted. The group also said a Levies Force post at Zareen Jungle in Noshki was destroyed in an explosion.
July 19: In the Kalshan area of Panjgur, BLA said its fighters targeted foot patrol personnel in an IED attack, killing two and seriously wounding one. Separately, in the Babri area of Kanak, Mastung, the group said its fighters blockaded the Quetta-Taftan trade route for several hours.
July 20: In the Paroom area of Panjgur, BLA said its fighters targeted an armored vehicle in an IED attack, causing casualties and losses. The same day, near Kharan city, the group said it blockaded the Kharan-Quetta highway and conducted a snap-checking for seven hours. Meanwhile in Dalbandin’s Phatak area, BLA said its fighters took control of the Quetta-Taftan trade route to conduct snap checking and destroyed a Levies post with explosives. Additionally, in Noshki’s Kachki area, the group said a cargo vehicle on the Quetta-Taftan route was set on fire and destroyed.
July 21: In the Dasht area of Mastung, BLA said its fighters destroyed a gas pipeline with explosives. The same day in the Tazeena area of Kharan, the group said a Pakistani army advance was repelled by its fighters and the army retaliated by using a quadcopter to drop munitions on civilian populations, causing livestock losses.
July 22: In the Durg area of Basima, BLA said its fighters destroyed a forces’ post used periodically by the army. In Kohlu’s Hosri area, the group said a Levies Force post was destroyed with explosives. The same day, in Dalbandin’s Charsar area, BLA said a vehicle transporting minerals on the Quetta-Taftan route was set on fire and destroyed.
July 23: In the Dali area of Kharan, BLA said its fighters attacked army personnel while they were allegedly advancing.
July 25: In the Ahmedwal area of Noshki, on the Quetta-Taftan trade route, BLA said its fighters ambushed a multi-vehicle military convoy, killing at least four personnel and wounding several others, including a DSP. Separately, in the Dasht Kambila area of Mastung, the group said an army vehicle was targeted and damaged in an IED attack.
July 26: In Kohlu’s Hosri area, BLA said its fighters ambushed personnel of an anti-terrorism force while they were advancing, killing five and causing others to flee, including wounded personnel.
Separately, in Kharan’s Tazeena area, the group said its fighters fired mortar shells at an advancing army unit, causing casualties and forcing a retreat. The same day, near Kharan city on the Quetta-Kharan road, BLA said its fighters attacked a CTD convoy, with two vehicles directly hit, resulting in what the group described as multiple casualties. Additionally, in the Nokchah area of Chaghi, BLA said its fighters set eight large vehicles ablaze on the Quetta-Taftan trade route and blockaded the highway at Gadar Jori Cross and Tobo Cross in Sorab for hours of snap checking.
July 27: On Panjgur’s Airport Road, BLA said a remote-controlled IED targeted a vehicle in an army convoy, causing damage. In Quetta’s Daghari area, the group said an armored vehicle was targeted in an IED attack. In Noshki’s Ahmedwal (Harooni) area, the group said a military convoy was attacked and damaged, while in Washuk’s Armagai area on the CPEC route, BLA said an armed attack on an army convoy killed two personnel on the spot.
July 28: In Gharibabad, adjoining Noshki city, BLA said its fighters attacked an army checkpoint with rockets and other weapons, killing four personnel on the spot; the group said a second unit then ambushed a vehicle attempting to advance, causing further losses. The same day, near Kharan city at Bab-e-Kharan, BLA said its fighters attacked a police convoy attempting to advance; later that afternoon, the group said an army advance in the same area was also attacked, killing at least three personnel and wounding several others.
In Turbat’s Kalatuk area, BLA said its fighters took control of the area, established checkpoints, and conducted snap checking, with the group’s “Fatah Squad” unit taking part in the operation. The group said Fatah Squad fighters, acting on intelligence, raided a hideout and detained seven personnel it identified as military intelligence operatives allegedly operating undercover in the surrounding area. BLA said the army then attempted to advance, and its fighters attacked, killing four personnel and wounding several others, the group said two of its own fighters, identified as Qadeer Baloch alias Saud and Maqsood alias Baibagr, were killed in the clash. The same day in Kharan’s Norouz Qalat area, BLA said its fighters attacked army personnel, with the group’s snipers killing one soldier and forcing a retreat.
July 29: In Panjgur’s Gwargo area, BLA said its fighters attacked army personnel attempting to advance, killing three on the spot; the group said when the army then advanced with armored vehicles, its fighters targeted two of them. Separately in Mach, the group said an army vehicle was targeted in a remote IED attack, causing casualties and losses.
July 30: Near Kali Karim Bakhsh in Kharan, BLA said its fighters attacked and damaged a military convoy and separately targeted foot patrol personnel in a remote-controlled IED attack that wounded three. The same day, in Panjgur’s Pul Abad area, the group said a military post used periodically by the army was destroyed with explosives.
July 31: In Khuzdar’s Zeedi area, BLA said its fighters attacked individuals it identified as members of a “death squad,” killing five on the spot. The group said that when the army subsequently attempted to advance into the area, its fighters directly attacked two vehicles in the convoy, causing multiple casualties.
The statement said the BLA pays tribute to its fighters killed in these operations identified as Waheed alias Bahoot, Muhammad Raheem alias Isfand, Shakir Rehman alias Ashraf, Qadeer Baloch alias Saud and Maqsood alias Baibagr describing their deaths as sacrifices for the cause of “national liberation.” The group said it remains committed to continuing its campaign against Pakistani security forces “with the same intensity” until the complete independence of Baloch land.
