QUETTA, BALOCHISTAN: Terrorism Case Against Sardar Akhtar Mengal Declared Unlawful
The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Quetta has declared the terrorism case registered against Sardar Akhtar Mengal unlawful.
Following arguments by advocate Sajid Tareen, the court declared the terrorism FIR against Balochistan National Party (BNP) chief Sardar Akhtar Mengal illegal, malafide and void.
The Anti-Terrorism Court Quetta issued the ruling today after hearing arguments from advocate Sajid Tareen, declaring the terrorism case (FIR No. 83/2025) against Sardar Akhtar Mengal unlawful.
BNP Central Information Secretary and Supreme Court advocate Agha Hassan Baloch was also present on the occasion.
It may be recalled that the terrorism FIR/case against Sardar Akhtar Mengal was registered some time ago over a rally held in Quetta demanding the release of Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) leadership.
Speaking to media representatives after the court hearing, BNP Central Senior Vice President and former President of the Balochistan High Court Bar, advocate Sajid Tareen, said today’s court verdict proved that the “puppet government” had tried to intimidate Sardar Akhtar Jan and the party leadership through such fabricated cases, but that the party would continue to raise its voice against injustice.
Advocate Sajid Tareen further said the current government had adopted a policy of imprisoning anyone who raises their voice against its unlawful actions, but that such tactics could not silence the people.
