QUETTA: VBMP Protest Camp Against Enforced Disappearances Continues for 6,309th Day
The Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) protest camp against enforced disappearances in Balochistan continued for its 6,309th consecutive day on [date].
The brother of forcibly disappeared Asadullah Baloch joined the protest camp to register his family’s continued demand for answers. He said that Asadullah Baloch was taken into custody by personnel from state institutions near SG Colony, close to the University of Balochistan, on March 14, 2014 and has been missing ever since, with no information provided about him to date.
He said the family has approached various commissions, government bodies and institutions established to provide justice over the past several years but have not received justice under the country’s laws. He added that this prolonged wait has caused the entire family severe distress and psychological suffering. He demanded that immediate information be provided about Asadullah Baloch and that his safe recovery be ensured.
VBMP Chairman Nasrullah Baloch said that families of the forcibly disappeared have been living under intense mental strain for years due to separation from their loved ones and continued uncertainty.
He said it is the constitutional and moral responsibility of the state to provide information to the families of all forcibly disappeared persons, including Asadullah Baloch, and to relieve them of this prolonged suffering.
