Armed Men Blockade Highway in Quetta, Clashes with Forces Leave Security Personnel Dead

QUETTA, BALOCHISTAN: Reports have emerged of an armed blockade and subsequent clashes with Pakistani forces near Mian Ghundi, close to Lakpass, in Balochistan’s capital, Quetta.

According to initial reports, unidentified armed men blocked the main highway in the area.

Officials confirmed an exchange of fire took place between the armed men and Pakistani forces, in which one police officer was killed and two personnel were injured.

Separately, reports have surfaced of three additional Frontier Corps (FC) personnel being killed, though this has not yet been officially confirmed by authorities.

No group has so far claimed responsibility for the incident.
