QUETTA, BALOCHISTAN: A widowed mother has made a heartfelt and desperate appeal for the recovery of her son, Jahanaib Muhammad Hassani, who was taken into custody by Frontier Corps (FC) personnel nine years ago and has not been seen since.

According to the mother’s statement, Jahanaib Muhammad Hassani was detained by FC personnel on May 3, 2016, from the Killi Qambrani area of Quetta under the pretext of investigation and subsequently forcibly disappeared.

“Twelve years have passed and I have received neither any information about my son nor any justice,” the grieving mother said.

Despite continuously knocking on the doors of the government and judiciary for over nine years, the widowed mother says she has received no response, no information and no justice regarding her son’s whereabouts.

She has also been a persistent presence at the protest camp of Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP), the leading advocacy organization that has been documenting and raising cases of enforced disappearances across Balochistan for years.

“I am a widowed mother, wandering from door to door. For God’s sake, recover my son,” she pleaded.
