Fifth Day of Sit-in Protest as Khadija Baloch Remains Imprisoned; Parents Join Call for Her Safe Recovery

QUETTA: The peaceful sit-in protest demanding the release of Khadija Baloch has entered its fifth day, with no significant progress from authorities regarding her safe recovery. Khadija’s parents, Peer Jan and her mother, are actively participating in the protest alongside supporters and Khadija’s daughter, who is enduring the pain of separation from her mother.

Speaking at the protest, Peer Jan, Khadija’s father, said, “In the press conference held two days ago, we gave the administration a 48-hour ultimatum to safely recover Khadija. Today, the ultimatum period has expired, but she has not been recovered. We have been sitting here on a sit-in protest for the past four days.”

Activists emphasize that if there are any allegations against Khadija or other missing persons, these should be addressed through due legal process in accordance with the constitution and law, rather than enforced disappearances that cause families ongoing torment.

Baloch society continues to face intense uncertainty, deprivation and pain as calls for justice and accountability grow louder.
