QUETTA: The Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) has expressed serious concern and strongly condemned the enforced disappearance of Ali Asghar, son of Noor Muhammad, from Panwan, Jiwani.
The family contacted VBMP’s General Secretary, Hooran Baloch and stated that he was taken into custody by security forces at night and transferred to an unknown location. So far, no information about his whereabouts has been provided. This situation has caused severe mental distress and anxiety for the family.
In his statement, Hooran Baloch said that detaining any citizen illegally is a clear violation of fundamental human rights and the Constitution of Pakistan. If there are any charges against Ali Asghar, he should be presented in court immediately and due legal process should be followed.
She further added that the practice of enforced disappearances must be stopped immediately and all missing persons, including Ali Asghar, should be recovered so that the anguish of their families can come to an end.
VBMP has demanded from the Government of Pakistan and relevant authorities that Ali Asghar be brought before the public without delay and his safe recovery be ensured. If there are any allegations against him, he should be presented before a court and granted the right to legal defense.
