QUETTA: The Former Secretary General of Baloch National Movement (BNM) Rahim Baloch, has said that Pakistan is repeating the same patterns of violence in Balochistan that were carried out against the Bengali nation in 1971. He shared his statement on the social media platform X.

According to the Former BNM Secretary General, over the past two decades, Balochistan has witnessed bombings of scattered mountain communities, enforced disappearances, and extrajudicial killings of civilians, including youth, women and children. He described these acts as part of a deliberate campaign of oppression and violence.

He further claimed that across the Balochistan, media, political, and human rights activities are subjected to unofficial restrictions. Arbitrary detention centers, he said, have been established under the pretext of “de-radicalization and rehabilitation,” reflecting colonial-era policies that persist into the twenty-first century.

Rahim Baloch’s statement called attention to the ongoing human rights crisis in Balochistan and urged both national and international observers to recognize and address these violations. He emphasized the need for transparency, accountability and immediate measures to safeguard the rights of the Baloch people.
