Kohlu: Armed men reportedly carried out a prolonged blockade on the highway between Barkhan and Rakni in Kohlu, carrying out snap checks on passing vehicles for several hours.
Eyewitnesses said the attackers stopped vehicles, conducted searches, and caused significant disruption to traffic.
According to initial reports, when two vehicles failed to stop, the armed men opened fire. No casualties have been confirmed so far.
During the incident, several police personnel were reportedly detained and their weapons were seized by the assailants.
Unverified reports also suggest that the attackers targeted a convoy of the Senior Superintendent of Police (SP), though this has not been officially confirmed.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.
