Rulers Wage Wars, Public Pays the Price, BSO Denounces Imperialism, Clerical Elite and War Politics

BSO

QUETTA: The spokesperson of Baloch Students Organization has warned that the escalating global war situation, particularly tensions in the Middle East, poses severe risks to ordinary people, who will bear the human and economic costs of conflict. The organization strongly condemned military actions by the United States, Israel, and their allies, including missile strikes on Iran, and called for an immediate ceasefire.

Impact of Global Conflict
The BSO stated that the current military escalation is not limited to state-level impacts but will result in loss of life, economic destruction, poverty, hunger, unemployment, and forced displacement on a massive scale. The group criticized the U.S. for using its alliances, including Israel, to extend the conflict into regions already suffering from economic hardship and political instability, arguing that vulnerable populations are again being made “fuel for destructive wars.”

Double Standards on Nuclear Weapons
The BSO also condemned what it described as a “double standard” regarding nuclear weapons. While the U.S. claims to prevent Iran from developing nuclear arms, the organization pointed out that the U.S. and its allies hold the world’s largest nuclear arsenals. The BSO argued that global nuclear disarmament should involve all nuclear powers, not just Iran.

Iranian Government and Popular Resistance
The statement criticized the Iranian ruling clerical elite, highlighting years of widespread protests by Iranian citizens against state repression, economic crises, and political oppression. The BSO warned that foreign military interventions by the U.S. and Israel could strengthen the Iranian regime under the guise of “defense,” while ordinary people again bear the consequences of power struggles between global elites.

Call for Public Pressure Instead of International Institutions
The BSO rejected appeals to international organizations such as the United Nations, claiming they serve the interests of major imperialist powers. Instead, the organization called on people worldwide particularly in the U.S., Europe, Israel and Iran to pressure their governments against militarism and war politics. It emphasized that wars are fought for elite interests and ordinary citizens always pay the price. Public resistance and mass mobilization, according to the BSO, are the only ways to prevent further destruction.

Regional Implications and the Situation of the Baloch People
The BSO highlighted the risk of the Middle East conflict spreading to South Asia. The group stressed that oppressed populations, including the Baloch people in Iran and Pakistan, would suffer most, facing forced displacement, economic devastation, and humanitarian crises, with little to no contingency plans from either state.

Appeal for Unity Among Oppressed Peoples
The BSO urged oppressed communities across the region to unite against destructive war policies. It called for organized collective resistance, solidarity, and the formation of a common front to minimize the disastrous consequences of global militarism and prevent ordinary people from becoming the “fuel” of international conflict.
