QUETTA: Dr. Shalee Baloch, central organizer of the Baloch Women Forum, has strongly condemned the inhumane treatment of Dr. Mahrang Baloch, calling for immediate provision of medical facilities.
In a statement issued today, Dr. Shalee Baloch said that depriving any individual regardless of their background or status of basic human rights, including access to healthcare, is both morally unacceptable and in violation of constitutional obligations. “In a civilized society, even those in custody are entitled to fundamental rights, with healthcare being paramount,” she stated.
Dr. Shalee Baloch highlighted that Dr. Mahrang Baloch is currently facing legal proceedings and is considered innocent under the law until proven guilty. “Denying her access to essential medical care only compounds the injustice,” she said, emphasizing that healthcare is a fundamental right that cannot be withheld under any circumstances.
She further demanded that Dr. Mahrang Baloch be immediately provided comprehensive medical facilities, examined and treated under the supervision of certified doctors in a recognized hospital. Dr. Shalee Baloch stressed that human empathy, justice, and the rule of law require that no mistreatment occurs.
Concluding her statement, she said, “Humanity is above all else, and respecting human rights is the foremost responsibility of every state and its institutions.”
