Quetta: The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for armed attacks in the Ornach and Buleda areas, saying that three Pakistani military personnel and one informer were killed in the incidents.
In a statement issued to the media, BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch said that the group’s fighters carried out an attack on Pakistani military forces in Ornach, while an individual “under-custody collaborator” was executed in Buleda.
According to the statement, BLA fighters targeted a Pakistani military convoy in Ornach, Khuzdar, on January 15, ambushing military vehicles positioned along a highway. The spokesperson claimed that one vehicle was hit directly, resulting in the deaths of three soldiers at the scene.
The spokesperson further claimed that on December 25, BLA fighters detained Naveed Ahmed, son of Muhammad Hashim, a resident of Buleda Gali, saying that he was working as an informer under the patronage of a non-commissioned Pakistani army officer.
The statement said that during interrogation, the detainee confessed to monitoring the movement of BLA fighters under the guise of a shopkeeper and to supplying rations and other materials to military camps in Bhat, Alandur, and Zindan. The group also claimed that he facilitated the transport of women to military camps at the direction of security forces.
According to the BLA statement, the individual further admitted involvement in profiling Baloch youth and assisting in their enforced disappearance by security forces and affiliated groups, in exchange for money and promised incentives.
The spokesperson claimed that “Baloch National Court” sentenced the individual to death on charges of treason, and that the sentence was carried out by BLA fighters in the Piri Kahn area of Turbat. The statement further alleged that the individual disclosed the names of other collaborators.
The BLA spokesperson said the group accepts responsibility for both incidents.
