
Quetta: The protest camp established by Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) against enforced disappearances in Balochistan continued for the 6,027th consecutive day on Saturday in front of the Quetta Press Club.
People from various walks of life participated in the protest camp, recorded their protest and expressed solidarity with the families of missing persons. Participants voiced serious concern over enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings of Baloch people in Balochistan, demanding a complete end to such practices and the immediate recovery of all missing persons.
On the occasion, VBMP Chairman Nasrullah Baloch, in a statement, said that the organization had received complaints that on 10 December, security forces forcibly disappeared eight young men after detaining them from the Greshah area of Khuzdar district.
The forcibly disappeared individuals were identified as Arif Hambal, son of Gajiyan; Zameer Ahmed, son of Abdul Wahid; Zahid Ahmed, son of Zahri Khan; Bashir Ahmed, son of Zahri Khan; Zahoor Ahmed, son of Fatah Khan; Abdul Malik, son of Allah Bakhsh; Shah Nawaz, son of Rehmat; and Irfan Hussain, son of Heer Khan.
Nasrullah Baloch described the enforced disappearances of Baloch youth as extremely alarming and strongly condemned the practice. He demanded the immediate and safe recovery of all missing youths and called for an end to extrajudicial actions.
