Khuzdar: A woman critically injured in a shooting incident in the Zeedi area of Khuzdar has succumbed to her injuries today, while her husband was killed on the day of the attack. Following the tragic deaths, the victims’ families and local residents staged a strong protest, blocking the main highway with a sit-in that brought traffic to a complete halt.
Due to the road closure, long queues of vehicles formed on both sides of the highway, causing severe hardship for commuters and passengers traveling from distant areas.
Protesters accused the authorities of negligence and a cover-up, stating that those involved in the shooting have yet to be arrested. They demanded the immediate arrest of the perpetrators and their prosecution in a court of law.
Meanwhile, the district administration held negotiations with the protesters, after which the sit-in was called off and traffic was restored. Local officials said that investigations into the incident are underway and efforts to arrest the suspects have been intensified.
However, no arrests or significant progress have been reported so far.
